CrowdVision watches incoming sensor data for you and delivers alerts through two independent channels: an in-app feed for when you are using the app, and browser push for when you are away.
The notification bell
The bell in the top navigation bar is your real-time alert feed. When an alert arrives while the app is open, the bell turns red and shows a count of unread alerts. Click it to see recent alerts, each with the event type, the affected building, and a timestamp.
Figure 1 — The notification bell shows a live count and, when opened, the recent alerts.
The bell also shows your connection state:
Live — your browser is connected to the real-time stream.
Offline — the connection dropped. Alerts that arrive while offline will not appear in this session’s list, though browser push (if enabled) is still delivered.
Browser push notifications
Push notifications reach you even when the tab is closed or minimised — your operating system shows the alert like an email or messaging app would.
Enabling push
Open the Administrator Panel or your domain settings.
Find Enable Notifications for a domain.
Click it — your browser asks whether to allow notifications.
Click Allow.
Figure 2 — Your browser asks permission the first time you enable push for a domain.
Push registration is per browser: enable it on each device or browser you use.
Revoking permission
You can revoke permission anytime in your browser’s site settings. The next alert sent to that device detects the change and cleans up the registration automatically.
Choosing per domain
Notification preferences are per domain — you can receive alerts for one organization and mute another. In the domain settings, toggle Temperature Alerts for any domain. The change saves immediately.
What triggers an alert
Temperature threshold exceeded — when a room’s temperature passes its configured maximum, an alert is dispatched. To avoid flooding, a five-minute cooldown applies per room: once an alert fires, that room will not alert again for five minutes even if it stays hot.
Manual alert — an administrator can send an alert to everyone in a domain from the Administrator Panel. Manual alerts bypass the cooldown.
Not receiving notifications?
Browser permission — confirm CrowdVision is set to “Allow” (not “Block” or “Ask”) in your browser’s site settings.
Cooldown active — temperature alerts wait five minutes between alerts for the same room.
Opt-in status — confirm the domain has temperature alerts enabled in your preferences.
Connection — if the bell shows Offline, the in-app feed is paused; reconnect to resume. Browser push is independent of this.
